ITIL® Intermediate Lifecycle Certificates

The ITIL® V3 Intermediate Lifecycle stream consists of 5 individual certifications or modules, each based on one of the ITIL® Service Lifecycle phases, built around the guidance within each of the OGC core ITIL® titles:

* Service Strategy

* Service Design5_itil_books

* Service Transition

* Service Operation, and

* Continual Service Improvement

Each module of the Lifecycle series covers an introduction to the Service Lifecycle, the principles, processes, functions and activities within that stage of the ITIL® Service Management Lifecycle, along with technology and implementation considerations.

The Lifecycle modules  expose individuals to essential aspects of Management, Marketing, Operations, and Organization Management useful to appreciate the concerns of their business counterparts within a Service Management context.

Format of the ITIL® Lifecycle Intermediate Exams

The ITIL® Intermediate examinations test candidates in their ability to understand, apply and analyse the relevant ITIL® practices covered within each module.

Each of the 8 questions is supported by a detailed scenario, which describes a specific Service Management or business related situation or problem. Candidates select the most accurate response from the four presented, that best solves the problem posed.

  • The optimum response to the question is awarded top marks (5)
  • The partially correct options will receive fewer marks (3 or 1)
  • The incorrect or distracter option, which contains little or no accurate detail to solve the problem, will receive no marks (0)

The pass mark for this examination is 70% (28/40) and the exam duration is 90 minutes.
