Helix can assist with the achievement of accreditation. It is important, however, that the overall responsibility for the accreditation project rests with the IT Management team.
The assistance Helix can provide varies from client to client, but our goal is to enable the attainment of the accreditation through a supportive programme including mentoring, training, process design, and programme management.
A suggested approach is briefly outlined below:
- Awareness of ISO/IEC 20000 for management team (Suggested overview training day / workshop)
- Workshop to define and agree scope, objectives and overall vision, including
- identification of stakeholders
- Initial assessment and gap analysis – in conjunction with Internal Audit department if preferred
- Suggested tools to include self assessment but also additional CoBiT governance standards, resulting in a report of recommendations leading to a project plan
- Training needs analysis reflecting requirements form assessment
- Establishment and documenting policies as required by the standard, specifying the evidence required for audit
- Documentation of processes and procedures as required by the standard, specifying the evidence required for audit
- Implementation and documentation of a Continual Service Improvement Programme, including policy statements
- Internal Audit definition identifying the key areas for compliance
- Final assessment prior to formal audit for accreditation
